Sandcreek

Lonnie Field and Walt Dabell have been playing off and on together as Sand Creek (otherwise known as "The Creek") for over 19 years. Individually, they are each talented singer-songwriters. More recently, John Kidd has entered the group to round out this trio. Together, their individual musical talents blend and enhance each other to create a truly unique sound and experience..

Sand Creek has one recording out so far, "Woodstove Blues", which made its debut at the 1995 Delaware Friends of Folk - Fall Fling. They are currently working on their second release due out sometime...

Warm, intimate, funny, and in-your-face original songs, together with spirited guitar picking, and melt-in-your-mouth harmonies make this trio a "must see"! Lonnie and Walt have an incredible talent for writing songs with a mixture of humor and satire from real life experiences. Some of their songs will hit close to home. Others will take you far away. All are sure to give you a new way to look at the world.

Sand Creek's music is a mix of Contemporary Folk, Blues, Bluegrass, Country, and Rock. Influences on their music style have come from a broad range. From Steve Goodman and John Prine, to Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson, to Deep Purple and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Their repertoire contains great original compositions in addition to numerous cover tunes by Jimmy Buffett, John Prine, America, The Band, The Grateful Dead, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger, Marshall Tucker, Tom Waites, Bob Dylan, Warren Zevon, Hank Williams, Bellemy Brothers, Woodie Guthrie, and many more.

Sand Creek has played a wide variety of venues over the years, from the Delaware beaches and Chesapeake Bay to Newark and Wilmington in State Park concerts, folk festivals, coffee houses, marinas, pubs and restaurants. Sand Creek was one of the headliners in the 2001 Delaware Folk Festival and more recently was a featured act at the 2002 "Tie Dye Festival" in Adams Tennessee.
